Broad River, 16 November 1773

James Gordon, From Scotland, Undertakes to bring in a sufficient number of inhabitants to cover 5000 acres of land at the rate of 50 acres for each person, and 100 acres for the head of each family, and to be in the province in 12 months. 500 acres on Broad River on the South side at a place called Bruton's Cabbin, 500 acres on the opposite side of the Branch, running by Bruton's Cabbin and to include the branch, 4000 acres on Chickasaw Creek, on the South side of Broad River: Reserved for 12 months, £166:13:4, the particular agreement to be signed at Augusta, and the deposit of Sd. per acre to be paid.

Andrew Robinson, South Carolina, a wife & five children, 4 sons & 1 daughter, from 11 to 5 years old & 10 negroes, Engages to settle 22 Negroes on the land within 9 months, Exclusive of those above mentioned, on which account 1100 acres of the 2000 applied for is reserved for that time. 750 acres on the So. side of Broad River on Long Creeek, 500 acres on the North side of Broad River adjg. The upper line of Vann's land, 750 acres on the South Branch of Long Creek abt. 7 or 8 miles up ye creek: The particular agreement for the reserve to be signed & the deposit of Sd. to be paid on 900 acres Reserved for 3 months & 1100 acres reserved for 9 months, £66:13:4, Deposit of Sd. per acre.

Robert Crooke, Saint Vincent, no family, 10 negroes. 600 acres on the River Savannah Adjoining Jacob Colsons lower line and to run down toward the township: Family rights reserved for 6 months, £20:0:0, Deposit of Sd. per acre to be pd. by Jno. Graham.

Martin Jollie, From Dominica, engages to bring into the Province within 12 months white persons & negroes to cover 2000 acres at the rate of 50 acres for each, and 100 acres for the head of each family. 400 acres on the South side of Broad river, joining the upper line of John L. Jones tract and 400 acres on the South side of Broad River joining the lower line of Jno. Letten Jones tract. 400 acres on the North side of Broad River, joining the upper side of land reserved for John Coleman & resigned by John Webb. 300 acres on the North side of Broad River near Buttrey's Creek: £66:13:4, to be paid by John Grahame.

Giles Tillett, from Virginia, a wife & 7 children, 4 sons & 3 daughters from 29 to 9 years. 500 acres at the Fork of Broad River where he had built a cabin & cleared a field: Reserved for 3 months, To be paid £10:0:0.

Basil Lamar, from South Carolina, himself & 3 negroes. 250 acres on the North side of Broad River near the Mouth of Falling Creek: Reserved for 3 Mos., £5:0:0, To be paid by Philip Young.

George Underwood, from South Carolina, a wife & child. 100 acres on Long Creek, North Fork, near the Lane of a 24000 acre tract: Immediate Settlement, £10:0:0, to be paid by Mr. Keating.

John Hutchings Johnson, From South Carolina, a wife & child. 100 acres joining the above tract of George Underwood. Reserved for 3 Mos., £20:0:0, pd. by E.B. & Commissrs.

Matthew Patton, from North Carolina, a wife, 2 sons & 1 daughter from 19 to 12 years of age. 200 acres on South side Long Creek on a Branch above the first fork, joining Clarke waggon road on the upper side: Do. for 8 Mos., £4:0:0, Pd. E.B. & Commissrs.

Richard Woods, from Ditto., a wife & son 8 years old & 4 negroes. 200 acres on Pistol Creek about 2 ½ miles from James Aycocks, above the mouth of ye first big branch on said Creek: Do. 4 Mos., £4:6:0, to be paid by E.B.

John Hill, from North Carolina, a wife, 7 sons & 1 daughter from 19 to 6 years old. 100 acres on the South side of Broad River, which one McClean had a Warrant and Gives it up: Immediate Settlement, £10:0:0, to be paid by E.B.
